Carter Whiteside

Carter is the creator and co-owner of Fit 5:22 along side his wife, Kristin. Carter was born in the Dallas, TX area, but grew up in Austin, TX. Carter has loved playing sports his entire life, and football became a passion in high school where he played quarterback. Carter continued his fitness journey at the University of Arkansas where he would workout with friends while obtaining a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering. While in college, Carter was exposed to functional fitness and quickly fell in love with the variety of workouts. Carter has always had a strong desire to teach/coach, and actually wanted to teach high school algebra and coach high school football up until he left for Arkansas! Opening Fit 5:22 was Carters way of being able to share his passion for functional training and also follow his dream of teaching and coaching. Since opening Fit 5:22, Carters "Why" for the gym has evolved from training for competitive reasons to preserving health and wellness for a lifetime. This evolution is the foundation of Fit 5:22 as Carter and Kristin are dedicated to eliminating chronic diseases in Texarkana and helping others become the best versions of themselves.

I am highly motivated to coach anyone who is eager to learn and become the best possible version of themselves. I love pouring into people who desire to be better today than they were yesterday. My primary motivation as a coach is to see the overall level of chronic disease in the Texarkana area drastically decline so that as a society we can live healthy and happy for a lifetime!
