General Manager

Hailey Christen

Hailey is a coach and the general manager at Fit 5:22. She was born and raised in Texarkana, TX. When not at the gym she loves reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Especially her husband, Nick, and their two fur kids, Millie and Tex. In addition to coaching she was previously a school teacher before becoming general manager. She was a cheerleader and took tumbling classes starting in elementary and on into college. During college is when she became interested in functional fitness because of the gymnastic movements and has since grown more interested in lifting and strength training as well. Although the gymnastics movements are what caught her attention, it’s been the gym community that has turned into friends and family that keep her motivated. She desires to help others with their health, fitness, and overall well being.

In high school I lost weight in order to be a certain size for college cheer tryouts. The weight I reached was not maintainable for me and I started gaining some of it back. After hearing comments made about my weight from different people while on the team I became really defeated and self conscious. During that time and many years after, I was eating and exercising mainly for appearance purposes only and trying to get as small as possible. It's taken ten years for me to understand how insignificant societies opinions or ideas are and how vital it is to nourish and move my body well. It's still early into this turning point for me, but I'm now prioritizing eating enough whole foods and exercising with movements that will support me in everyday life. So far I have found I have more energy, improved mood, and better mobility than I have had in a long time.

My purpose for coaching is to help people move great and feel great for life. I truly love the movements and lifts that I teach and want to ensure people are learning them to be practiced correctly and safely. I want to help our members build confidence in the movements and nutrition for themselves so that they don't feel like they have to rely on me for forever to be successful. I am motivated by our coaches and members in our gym community that we have from encouraging and cheering each other on.
